Easy comfort with the softest GREY Coat

It's easy to love the rain. The thought of sitting at your favorite coffee shop, listening to the crowd around you catch up while you savor every sip of that delicious caramel latte... Or staying at home with your movie of choice, trying to tune out the rain drops hitting the roof...
All that? It's easy to fall in love with. But, sometimes you have to step out and brace a combination that really has a lot to do with UN-Lucky.
Rain.
Wind.
Coldest weather yet!
Yup.
So stepping out with boots, thick socks and an over-sized knit jumper was so an easy option to pick out. Add to that one of THE softest coats? I can safely say, despite my untied hair basically being collateral damage to the wind, this coat saved the day.
I think I might have searched at least 10 different shops in less than half an hour, before the FINAL one had this gorgeous grey cat. Originally, I needed it for a specific shoot, but at the back of my mind, I always wanted that go to grey coat to style with literally anything. So when I found this WHISTLES one at my local Farmers, I snatched it off the rack, shuffled to quickly try it on and walked out of the changing room with a huge smile on my face. It was one of my luckiest and "proudest" purchases this NZ winter.
I know it might be weird to solemnly focus on just one item, but that's all you sometimes need. I can't tell you how many times I saw beautiful coats throughout the Autumn Season, but none really ticked all the boxes. This one in my opinion did.
Soft - check.
Long enough to cover butt - check (this part I didn't really mind, UNTIL I tried and tested how useful that feature is).
Long sleeves (even for a tall girl) - check.
BIG pockets - DOUBLE check - one of my favorite features.
Silk but soft interior lining - LOVE and check - it's so easy to layer it!
Details: buttons, stitching all over, thick and soft collar - CHECK.
Windproof? Yup. Check.
On the day of this shoot, I was walking through the strongest of winds and still, aside from my face and my hands having to hold the umbrella freezing, everything else stayed warm and cozy.
And if you're wondering, our frozen fingers were kindly warmed up by one of the best coffee places in town.
Mojo Cafe not only has beautifully aesthetic interior, but each cafe all over the CBD is different to the other. The one thing I adore about them? The stunning green/blue colored mugs you will find in EVERY cafe! Lets also not forget the cute words written on the takeaway cups and the mouthwatering caramel lattes they never fail to make - YUMMMMM.
