As a writer, nothing is more important than inspiration and time.
For me, it all started when I unintentionally learnt to love stories and adventure. Ever since the first trip to the bookstore with my dad, I seemed to always run out of hours in a day, looking for another book to devour.
And nothing felt more natural than being able to always tell time.
As I grew up though, I took even more pride in knowing how much one minute, even a few seconds, can mean to someone.
And I wanted to make a memory with my very own JORD Wood Watch. Gifting this stunning masterpiece as a little thank you this Father's Day, was one of the easiest choices I made.
My dad taught me to value every second, and learn that "when you grow up, you will know what that means".

And speaking of adventure, the Auckland Museum felt like the perfect place for this shoot. It was also fun seeing the former photographer - my dad - standing in front of the camera, rather than behind it for a change. It's one of those moments you smile, laugh and know you'll collect as another.. guess what? Memory...

From the dark, almost powerful sandalwood, a shade that immediately caught my eye, to the contrasting emerald.
Seeing the watch in the photo is one thing. Beautiful.
But examining it up close? Stunning.
The clean cut face allows for a simple view of the ticking hands, while the emerald backdrop accompanies it for a soothing effect.
I might have taken a few extra minutes to soak in all the different shades of dark sandalwood especially how even the side of the face had the monogram JORD engraved. I am all for the small details.

In truth, I never heard too much about wood watches. Once my eyes landed on the JORD site however, I might have fallen in love with at least a few of them.

The Dark Sandalwood I choose has caught my attention specifically for the dark grain of the wood and how it emphasizes the gold detailing all around. It makes the emerald stand out, while it still composes it self into a streamlined structure.
It's light but still heavy enough to fit just right on the wrist. It has a smooth texture to the strap, bringing comfort at the forefront.
I think it could be one of the simplest ways to say a small thank you.
